AMA18 is a small local NGO that exists already 29 years. They are mostly women helping other women. They collaborate with many other NGOs for the homeless, refugees and families in need.
They have workshops knitting all kinds of products, like blankets, scarves, hats, baby socks etc. Elderly persons from the neighbourhood rely on them to give their lives structure, to get together and be useful for society.
At the moment they are having a hard time to keep the head above water, they have no funds and are at risk of having to stop the activities if they cannot get together the minimum to organise the workshops (for example for the wool).
SOLCIR is currently collaborating with AMA18 and La Iaia in the organisation of workshops at EUIPO knitting scarves for the homeless. They will be handed out before winter. Colleagues are generously knitting together, as you can see in this short video.
